Command & Risk Management
TERRY
As well as being the longest serving member of the the United Kingdom International Search and Rescue team (UKISAR) and an active NILO, Terry has both operated and commanded at every level of the fire service and search and rescue sector for nearly 4 decades. Within this time he has attended and supported major international incidents/disasters and continues to facilitate international exercises. Terry is a true world leader in the technical field. Terry also works to a high level of risk assessment, medical and advisory roles for various prestigious clients . He has unmatched experience and also the talent and ability to instruct and mentor these skills. Terry is highly respected in many circles. In 2023 Terry received an MBE on His Majesty's New Years Honours list for contribution to global rescue.

Research & Development
TOM
After competing at a national level of sport, Tom travelled the world and lived in New Zealand over a number of years. On returning to the UK Tom joined the fire service and serves as a search and rescue operator within the command structure with multiple skillsets that enable him to adapt, overcome and manage situations posed to modern rescue operations. Tom has deployed to multiple national and international disasters using his specialist set of skills to assist those in need of support. Tom has developed service leading technology such as apps and training aids in order to improve tactical and strategic outcomes across services to ensure his teams can respond as effectively as possible at incidents. Tom thrives on planning and leading multiagency exercises designed in locations never used before to create the most realistic training possible giving the most immersive experience possible.

DIRECTOR
Medical Director
TY
Specialist Paramedic specialising in Austere and Specialist Medicine and Rescue.
Ty has more than 16 years experience within the British Army, Serving with multiple Specialist Units in numerous operations all over the world. His last role was as the Chief Army Paramedic. Ty had operated as a Solo Paramedic, also within multidisciplinary multinational teams, and as Medical Director/Clinical Lead on some of the most extended evac timelines in recent operations.
As well as the UK Military, Ty continues to be current, competent and operate in many different sectors ranging from specialist rescue, counter terrorism, education/policy/strategy, political security & protection, TV & film consultancy, adventure as well research.
He is heavily involved in pre-hospital and critical care research and is a passionate and experienced clinician, operator and instructor.
Ty received an MBE on Her Majesty's New Years Honours list for innovation in medicine and saving lives on operations.
A leader in his field, Ty continues to push the boundaries of medical excellence at The Soteria Group.
FACULTY

Security and High Threat Lead
JOEL
An active Close Protection Paramedic with extensive operational experience providing bespoke solutions for private clients both domestically and internationally. Concurrently working as an active front line Paramedic with the NHS. This combination of experience within healthcare and the high risk security sector has fused two advanced aspects and has facilitated integration with in-situ high profile bespoke teams and tasks.
Joel has recently planned and directed specialist operations in Ukraine as well as the, UK, Israel, Jordan and more.
Certified MIMMS (Major Incident Medical Management and Support), Joel both operates and commands embedded in or alongside security and medical details and projects where there is a multi-agency infrastructure.

Emergency Medical Doctor
TOM
Tom is a Doctor working in Devon. He is currently in GP training, having worked for the preceding 2 years as a Senior Doctor in Emergency Medicine at a Major Trauma Centre, amongst his training roles in Anaesthetics and ICU. Prior to this he worked for 3 years in Emergency Medicine at a combination of level 2 and level 3 trauma centres. He has medical experience from around UK and spent 4 months in rural Zambia whilst training. His professional interests are in trauma education, teamwork and aiming for the best standards of communication. Tom is actively involved in innovation, having developed award winning treatment zone Cazmat®️. He is working with Openhouse Products to integrate the mat into systems internationally. Passionate about excellence in patient care at all stages of their journey, from the pre-injury phase to rehabilitation, Tom will bring his broad medical experience, and skills in communication, teamwork and innovation to the faculty.

TASH
Tash spent a number of years travelling the world visiting remote locations and documenting her journey along the way. Tash now lives in the UK with her husband and two daughters, with a role as a Physiotherapy assistant for the NHS. She is passionate about the care and recovery of her patients and strives to ensure the best care possible. Tash carries on her interest in documenting her life back home and has been involved with numerous marketing and social media campaigns in her spare time.
