Realistic tactical medical exposure for medics and pre-hospital care providers

Course overview

The Tactical Immersion Day 2026 is a one-day, fully immersive training experience designed to give medics and pre-hospital care providers realistic exposure to environments that are difficult to access through standard training.

Delivered in collaboration with Long Reach Tactical, this unique training day places learners inside a currently operational tactical unit, giving them the opportunity to work around tactical personnel, live casualties, realistic injury simulation and scenario-based medical incidents.

This is not a classroom-based course. Participants will be placed into challenging, dynamic and unfamiliar environments where they will need to assess casualties, make decisions, communicate effectively and provide care while operating within the pressures and limitations of a tactical setting.

Why attend?

Many medics and pre-hospital care providers train in clinical or controlled environments but rarely get the opportunity to experience how medical care feels when delivered alongside tactical teams, operational movement, communication challenges, low-light areas, confined spaces, noise, uncertainty and rapidly changing situations.

This immersion day has been designed to bridge that gap.

Participants will gain valuable exposure to the realities of providing casualty care in a tactical environment, helping them develop confidence, adaptability and situational awareness while working around operational tactical personnel.

What to expect

Throughout the day, participants will be immersed in realistic scenarios involving live casualties and real injury simulation.

You will be required to work through casualty management problems in and around a tactical environment, using supplied PPE and equipment. The day is designed to feel realistic, challenging and memorable, while remaining safe, supported and professionally facilitated.

Scenarios may include:

  • Casualty assessment in tactical environments

  • Haemorrhage control and trauma management

  • Working around tactical teams

  • Communication under pressure

  • Movement and access challenges

  • Scene safety and situational awareness

  • Prioritising care in dynamic environments

  • Decision-making with limited information

  • Casualty handover and ongoing care

Key learning outcomes

By the end of the day, participants will have had the opportunity to:

  • Experience a realistic tactical medical environment

  • Understand the challenges of delivering care around tactical operations

  • Improve confidence in managing casualties in unfamiliar settings

  • Practise trauma care in realistic and pressured scenarios

  • Develop communication and decision-making under stress

  • Work alongside a currently operational tactical unit

  • Reflect on personal performance, clinical priorities and human factors

  • Gain exposure to environments that are difficult to replicate in standard training
