Industry Emergency Response & Command (IERC)

During a site emergency, clinical skill alone is not enough. Effective incident management depends on leadership, communication and coordinated control.

Industry Emergency Response & Command (IERC) is designed for supervisors, lift managers, APs, site managers and anyone likely to assume leadership during an incident. The programme fulfils the often-overlooked requirement for “adequate and appropriate” command capability in high-risk environments.

Developed under the EIERRC framework EIERRC Framework-2, the course focuses on:

• Command and control principles

• Maintaining situational awareness

• Coordinating medical response and rescue resources

• Information management under stress

• Preventing secondary harm and incident escalation

Delegates learn how to maintain structure and clarity during high-stress events, ensuring incidents are controlled rather than compounded by confusion, reflecting the Command & Coordination component of the framework EIERRC.

This course strengthens site-level leadership during disruption and improves confidence in emergency planning and execution.
