Industry Emergency Response & Command (IERC)

One-Day Practical Training for Workplace Emergencies

Our Industry Emergency Response & Command course is designed for supervisors, managers, first aiders and emergency response personnel who may need to take control during a serious workplace incident.

The course goes beyond first aid. It develops the confidence, leadership and practical decision-making needed to manage the wider emergency, protect those involved and coordinate an effective response until the emergency services arrive.

Training is practical, realistic and tailored to your workplace, hazards and emergency arrangements.

Course content can include:

  • Establishing command at an incident

  • Conducting an initial scene assessment

  • Identifying immediate hazards and priorities

  • Allocating roles and coordinating responders

  • Communicating under pressure

  • Managing first aid and casualty care

  • Controlling access and protecting the scene

  • Contacting and briefing the emergency services

  • Using structured decision-making models

  • Managing changing or escalating incidents

  • Completing an effective emergency handover

  • Learning from incidents and identifying improvements

Preparing People to Take Control

In a major workplace emergency, having trained first aiders is only part of the response.

Someone must take control, coordinate people, manage hazards, communicate clearly and ensure the right actions happen in the right order.

We use realistic workplace scenarios to help learners practise these skills under pressure. Training can be adapted around your site, emergency plans, equipment and foreseeable incidents.

The result is a team that is better prepared to respond calmly, safely and effectively when an emergency occurs.

More Than Compliance

Stronger governance and compliance

More confident incident response

Better trained, more capable teams

Reduced risk across operations

Our instructors bring experience from medical, rescue and emergency response environments.

We use practical exercises and realistic scenarios to help learners remain calm, make effective decisions and communicate clearly under pressure.

The result is a first aider who is not only qualified, but capable, confident and ready to act.
