IMTER
Industry Medical & Trauma Emergency Response (IMTER)
2 Days
Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, employers must provide adequate and appropriate first aid provision based on workplace risk. In high-risk construction and lifting environments, generic first aid training is often insufficient.
Industry Medical & Trauma Emergency Response (IMTER) is an enhanced Emergency First Aid–level programme designed specifically for construction environments. Developed in partnership with Radius Group and Intervention Rescue, this course embeds real-world mechanisms of injury, site pressures and operational constraints directly into training delivery.
IMTER focuses on:
Traumatic bleeding and crush injuries
Falls from height
Medical collapse in high-risk settings
Scene safety and casualty access
Early structured decision-making under pressure
Delegates learn to provide immediate, effective care in noisy, dynamic environments where emergency service access may be delayed. The programme reflects the Immediate Response phase of the EIERRC lifecycle, ensuring practical capability rather than theoretical compliance.
This course provides proportionate, risk-aligned medical capability for those requiring more than standard first aid, but not full advanced pre-hospital training.
