JAMIE WALSH

HEMS PARAMEDIC

Jamie has been a Paramedic for 16 years and worked in a number of roles.  He spent 4 years working as part of the hazardous area response team (HART) with the ambulance service before moving to the air ambulance working as a Critical Care Paramedic in the North of England for the last 9 years.  He has also spent 12 years working in motorsport with the British Superbikes & MotoGP.  Jamie has remote medicine experience working on remote motorcycle expeditions in South East Asia for the last 6 years.  He was also the Paramedic who took part in the Jetsuit Paramedic trial in 2022 flying the Jetsuit in the Lake District.

As well as operational roles Jamie has always been involved in education, he was a module lead on the Diploma in Remote and Offshore Medicine for the Royal College of Surgeons. He currently lectures at university and as well as being a current Course Director for the Prehospital Emergency Medicine Crew Course, he also regularly teaches on the Prehospital Emergency Anaesthesia Course.  These courses are designed to give Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses the skills to be part of a Prehospital Critical Care Team.
